Mike Smith sur les waivers

The Tampa Bay Lightning have placed goaltender Mike Smith on waivers.
If he clears then he be will assigned to the minors. Smith just returned to the NHL ranks on Monday from a two-week conditioning assignment after recovering from a knee injury. However, he served as a healthy scratch on Tuesday with Dwayne Roloson starting and Dan Ellis as the backup. The Lightning also needed a goalie in Norfolk because Cedrick Desjardins is sidelined with an injured shoulder and he may require surgery. "He needs to play," GM Steve Yzerman said regarding Smith. "We have three goaltenders here and we don't want to go with any kind of a rotation. If Smitty gets claimed, it's obviously good for him. If he doesn't he goes down and plays for us."
